Medical Insurance Policies at FirstCall Urgent Care
It is very important for patients to remember that their insurance plan is a contract between themselves, their employer and the insurance company. FirstCall Urgent Care is not a party to the contract. All charges acrued are the responsibility of the patient from the date services are rendered. If a patient’s insurance company does not deliver payment to FirstCall Urgent Care within 60 days from the time of service, it is the patient’s responsibility to fulfill the payment. After 60 days, it is not possible for FirstCall Urgent Care to leave any unpaid balances on a patient’s account to wait for an insurance company to complete payment. Occasions may arise when a patient will have to pay FirstCall Urgent Care directly and discuss the payment with their insurance company after to settle the matter. If FirstCall receives payment from a patient’s insurance company after the patient has already paid themselves, the patient will be reimbursed as soon as possible.

If a patient’s insurance coverage is updated or modified, it is the responsibility of the patient to notify FirstCall Urgent Care of the change(s) immediately. If a change goes unreported, it is possible for charges to remain unpaid due to filing limitations of the insurance company. In this situation, the patient will be responsible to pay any outstanding charges in full.
Medical Records Fee
If a patient requests a transfer of their medical records to another primary care physician there is a fee for the service. FirstCall Urgent Care bases these fees on recommendations by the Medical and Chirurgical Society of Maryland. The current fee guidelines are $19.70 per chart, plus $.65 per page, plus postage.
